INTERNATIONALITY LETTER
Our school is bigger than the world.
All children possess the right to live childhood at its fullest.
Full of time, opportunities, discoveries, significant learning experiences, and powerful relationships.
Early Childhood Education must be seen as an indispensable and unique academic phase, where care and base education are entangled actions. It’s of our knowledge that such values are integrated with all activities inside the school, may they be simple or of great amplitude. To play among them is a powerful communication language between children and the world. Inspired by Reggio Emilia, our structure offers an environment where kids can have fun, discover, and create.
Such space craves challenging, exciting, and stimulating characteristics, capable of relating academic and lucid necessities so that children can encounter the challenge and pleasure present in learning, knowing how to benefit from the world’s positive offers with dominance. When playing, they can imagine, explore, and learn, build their identity and autonomy.
In this sense, there is an extra dedication placed when welcoming children inside our academic environment.
In Early Childhood Education, pedagogical documentation is regularly presented to families, allowing them to meet and understand activities realized inside the classroom. Pedagogical documentation is present in students’ routines with the mission of registering the process and results obtained from their academic work.

Elementary School is aimed at kids from 6 to 10 years old.
The curriculum and planning link both international and Brazilian ways to provide a basis for knowledge and skills. This development progresses throughout the years, enhanced by student interaction. Every year, students are motivated to become more independent their thoughts and their work.
Students’ time and space in school are managed in a way that favors constant dialogue, the pursuit for comprehension of information, inquiries, and research of topics present in class. Teamwork is an important part of our motive and it brings a wider look to diversity.Students’ time and space in school are managed in a way that favors constant dialogue, the pursuit for comprehension of information, inquiries, and research of topics present in class. The Middle School curriculum covers 6th grade through 8th grade, it’s rigorous and demands international and Brazilian prerequisites for graduation.
Students take part in subjects based on English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Disciplines such as music, arts, electives, life projects, and physical education provide full formation, which values the development of individual, social, and cognitive aspects.
Through the sports program, in which the student’s participation is also based on their academic performance, kids have the chance to develop their motor skills and learn team spirit and teamwork, as well as using the school’s values.
The “House Program”, or in Portuguese, “Programa das Casas”, has as its objective to motivate collaborative work through activities aiming to connect Early Childhood Education, Elementary, Middle e High School students.
At the same time social skills are required in groups that have both girls and boys of different ages, the activities presented develop academic skills, because students are exposed to logic challenges that involve interpretation to problem-solving.
Furthermore, the program has as its objective to teach kids, in a playful way, the importance of respect, leadership, and teamwork.

International students that don’t take part in Portuguese classes are enrolled in-depth through the K12 International Academy.
In addition, they also attend Portuguese Language Learning (PLL) classes. Just like our school, K12 International Academy is also accredited by Cognia.
Middle School students participate in counseling meetings, guided through the teacher-tutor. Preparing students to make decisions at this important time of life, the teacher-tutor is the one who knows his students well and can talk to them in groups or individually to manage social and academic development.
The teacher-tutor is a defender for the student, providing constant support for each student by creating this support relationship between teacher and student and by listening and answering to students’ problems. Students are encouraged to develop critical thinking and the ability to solve problems creatively.
High School has its beginning in 9th grade and its end in 12th grade, following the American system of education.
The planning in the course reflects what Sant'Anna considers essential for determined, critical, respectful, students fully formed and ready to continue their studies in the best Brazilian and international universities.
To help students adapt to this course, during 9th grade, students take part in a variety of transition classes. From 10th grade on, SAT (PSAT) preliminary tests and tests for the most popular vestibulares in Brazil demand student planning.
Students from all grades can participate in extracurricular activities, such as Sports, National Honor Society, Student Council, MUN (Model of United Nations), that help in the development of leadership skills.
Complementing regular classes, students take part in elective classes that focus on enhancing different skills in a process that values protagonism and autonomy of the student in the search for personal and professional development.
International students that don't take part in Portuguese classes are enrolled in-depth through the K12 International Academy. Besides, theses students also take part in Aprendizagem da Língua Portuguesa (PLL) classes.
K12's platform is also available for High School students who wish to take Honors and Advanced Placement classes. As well as our school, K12 International Academy is also recognized by Cognia.
At the end of High School and the International Program, students are given a double certificate, including the conclusion of the Ensino Médio Brasileiro and the international diploma.
